Our school's ICT facilities. 

ICT is a word that is seen and heard everywhere - especially in education. Today we cannot enter the society without ICT knowledge.
Our college has a computer lab with 42 computers equipped with modern computer facilities, a language lab with 21 computers and a specialized unit with 49 tab computers which are used by a large number of students daily for educational purposes. Also giving students an opportunity to study online, Mahanama College's computer labs are now equipped with interactive online access points through SLT Fiber high-speed broadband links.

It provides a truly fast Internet connection with speeds up to 100 Mbps, enabling students to conduct interactive sessions such as live, real-time video conferencing over the Internet.
Also, all computers are networked and Wi-Fi hotspot facilities are provided throughout the school campus with high speed internet connection.
These rich interactive education systems are essential to produce a talented youth who can contribute to the development of this country through innovation. At the same time, teachers can use the additional resources available on the Internet to further enhance the quality of education in the classroom environment.

Vision

Our school aims to promote the meaningful use of ICT (Information Communication Technology), which results in the development of students' critical thinking skills. Along with all staff, students will use information technology in a creative and collaborative environment where they will model respectful, responsible and ethical uses of technology in social, personal and environmental contexts.

The following belief statements guide the realization of this vision:

• We believe students and staff must be skilled users of technology, and that acquiring and maintaining     skills is a continuing process.

• We believe students and staff must have an understanding of the ethical issues associated with the       use of technology.

• We believe students and staff must have access to reliable and efficient technology resources.

• We believe all teachers must be responsible for the appropriate integration of technology across the       curriculum.

ADVANTAGES OF ICT BASED EDUCATION:

1. Through ICT, visuals and images can be easily used in teaching and which helps to improve the            retentive memory of students.

2. Through ICT, teachers can easily explain complex instructions and ensure students' comprehension.

3. Through ICT, teachers are able to create interactive classes and make the lessons more enjoyable,        which helps to improve student attendance and concentration.
